Head Coach: Jared Williams

Jared Williams became the head coach of the Zionsville Community High School Wrestling Program in 2014 after 2 years as an assistant for Bob Brennan. Prior to coming to Zionsville in 2012, Coach Williams was the head coach at Avon High School (2002-2005) and Lawrence North High School (2005-2011). His teams compiled a dual meet record of 167-46, sent 30 wrestlers to the individual state finals, and included 16 IHSAA State Place-winners. He has coached 4 IHSAA Individual State Champions.

In three years as the head coach at Avon High School, Coach Williams led the Orioles 3 IHSAA Team Sectional titles, 1 Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championship, and an IHSAA Team State Tournament Runner-Up finish in 2005. While at Lawrence North, Coach Williams guided the Wildcats to 4 MIC Conference Titles, the 2008 Final Four of the IHSAA Team State Wrestling Tournament, and a Runner-up finish at the 2011 IHSAA Team State Finals. He was the 2008 Indiana State Wrestling Coach of the Year and is the only coach in the history of Indiana high school wrestling to take 2 different programs to the IHSAA Team State Championship Finals.

As a high school wrestler, Coach Williams was the IHSAA 171lb. State Runner-up in 1997 and won the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award for the sport of wrestling. He had a career record of 145-25 and was named a High School All-American after placing 8th at the National High School Coach’s Association Senior Nationals. He was first team academic all-state in both wrestling and football as a senior. Coach Williams continued his wrestling career at Purdue University. While at Purdue, he was a three-year varsity letter-winner at 184lbs. The Boilermakers finished 14th in the NCAA Division I National Tournament during his senior season in 2002. Coach Williams is a special education teacher at ZCHS and lives in Zionsville with wife Patty, daughters Carolyn and Ellie, and son Harry.

Assistant Coach: Bob Brennan

Bob Brennan is entering his 22nd year as a wrestling coach.  He began his career as an assistant coach in 1995 and was head coach from 2001 to 2013.

He currently is an assistant coach and very happy! He has also coached varsity/freshman/middle school football for the past 22 years.

Assistant Coach: Ryan Mantel

Ryan Mantel is entering his 4th year as an assistant with the Zionsville wrestling program. Prior to joining the ZCHS staff he spent 4 years as an assistant at Yorktown High School where he helped coach them to two state runner-up finishes in 2010 and 2013. He also worked with 3 state champions during his time there.

While in school at Ball State, Coach Mantel was a co-founder, head coach, and competitor for the Ball State Wrestling club. In three years he qualified 5 athletes for the NCWA national tournament.

As a High School Wrestler Coach Mantel was a 4 year varsity letter winner at ZCHS, wrestling at 103 and 112lbs. He was a sectional, regional and conference champion and placed 5th at the semi-state during his sophomore season. Coach Mantel is a Science teacher at ZCHS and also coaches middle school football at ZWMS.

Assistant Coach: Dave Yager

Dave Yager is entering his seventh year as an assistant coach for the Zionsville Community High School Wrestling Program. Prior to coming to Zionsville , Coach Yager was a volunteer coach at Pike High School in Indianapolis for two seasons and assistant coach at Hobart High School for eight years.

As a high school wrestler, Coach Yager was the IHSAA 132lb State Champion in 1984 and placed 3rd at 126lbs in 1983. He had a career record of 98-13 and was voted Outstanding Wrestler during his junior and senior year. Coach Yager continued his wrestling career at Indiana State University for two years until the program was dropped after his sophomore year.

Coach Yager works for Monarch Beverage Company and lives in Zionsville with wife Shawn and daughter Lauren who attends Indiana University.
